So the summer is starting, and John and I could not be happier about what it is going to bring for Vitamin B. First up, there is one huge change:

VITAMIN B IS RETURNING TO OUR ORIGINAL LOFT SPACE STARTING ON JUNE 5!!!

We realized it was the perfect home for our party, and the people who run the space are kind enough to have us back. Things are going back to the way they were when you first went to our party and fell in love with it. You can expect:

Booming sound in an underground Brooklyn loft
Circus performers and aerial acrobats
Ridiculous beats
Lots of space to dance
A beautiful chill out space

And to add to the craziness, we have caught one of the biggest names in the game to kill it for us!! For the June party, we are bringing in the breakbeat legend, DJ FIXX, to break your faces with his old-school basslines, rapid-fire trebles, and sick melodies. We can’t even express how excited we are for this guy. When we first started talking about throwing vB, we compiled a short list of DJs and producers that we go crazy for and would love to have come down to Brooklyn and join us. Fixx was near the top of that list. He is a legend in the game, and probably made about a quarter of the tracks that you have rocked out hardest to over the past 10 years. With over 150 12″ releases, 50 digital releases, and 5 cds under his belt, you can expect to dance your ass off.

We also have a returning vB veteran coming back to rage out again. DJ PHUNKAE came through back in February and really blew things up with his heavy duty bangers and original bootleg remixes, so we are stoked to have him back again and joining us in June. Now running his own label, Real Hype Records, Phunkae has been putting out some of the hottest tracks of 2009, and you can expect to hear some gems that no one else has heard yet. We love this guy.

Of course you will be hearing from Tarquin, Tektite, and Cecil Grey as well, with a sick mixture of Electro House, Breakbeats, Dubstep, Baltimore booty, and whatever else they feel like playing that packs enough bass to make your hair stand up.

There is just one change that we are making to our policy this time around, but it shouldn’t be a terribly big deal. We need everyone to RSVP on the vitaminbreaks.com website. There is no prepay requirement. Just due to the underground space, we need to keep the party low key, and have everyone put themselves on the list before the event. This guys are known for throwing one of the most exhilarating parties in Brooklyn, and they’re gonna be bringing that same vibe to vB this month. Expect a whole eclectic mess of breakbeats, hip hop, electro house, funk, indie, and whatever else they happen to be enjoying at the moment. It’s gonna get sweaty, but don’t worry, the bar is close to the dancefloor

Also supporting these two are going to be the vB residents: Tektite, Cecil Grey, and Tarquin. They’ll bring it like they always do, and keep it going from 10 to 5am. You’ll hear it all, and can probably expect some dirty Baltimore breaks and dubstep at the end of the night, even if you have 10 things to do this Friday, it’ll be worth it to come in and shake your booty for an hour or two, beginning, middle or end.

Beyond the music, you can expect one of the most beautiful clubs in Brooklyn, aerial silk acrobats, cheap drinks, amazing not-cheap drinks for those who are so inclined, and amazing dancing.

Tektite got his start in the 90’s with Old School (UK) Hardcore, which quickly became an addiction to the hoover synths, old school stabs, and choppy breaks. Fast forward to 2008, and he is still searching for records that carry that old school sound while rounding out his repertoire with the massive warbled bass of electro-house, booty bounce of Baltimore Club, and full-volume funk of the UK breakbeat sound. Tektite is also co-founder and resident of the Brooklyn based breakbeat and electro party VitaminB, where occasionally you can still hear him return to his roots with an early 90’s breakbeat hardcore set.
